Bitossi Pottery Bamboo Cigarette Box

This Italian pottery cigarette box was produced by Bitossi Ceramiche in their “Bamboo” décor, a highly collectible and harder to find pattern. Founded in 1921, the company really made their mark during the 1950s and ’60s under the art direction of Aldo Londi. 

This lidded box features a butter-yellow bamboo design on raw clay. Marked on base and original stickers are intact. It is in overall excellent vintage condition, as these pieces are made from a softer clay that is prone to chipping. There are a few light flea bite marks on the inner edge of the base that are typical with age and use (reflected in price).
