Frey Kasier Porcelain Vase

Designed by Manfred Frey for Kaiser, this stunning matte finish bisque porcelain vase from Germany has a garden princess design with delicate detail. 

In excellent vintage condition with light discoloration on the base where it touches the surface, which is typical for the age and use of pieces like this. No chips or cracks. Marked on base.

Manfred Frey (born October 22, 1940, in Bamberg, Germany) began his career in the 1950s as a Formenbauer (model maker) at the Alboth + Kaiser porcelain manufactory in Hausen, a company with roots dating back to 1908 as the royal porcelain mill Silbermann. His talent for creative modeling and form preparation quickly became evident, and he developed a strong interest in OP-ART (Optical Art) elements, which would later influence his porcelain designs. In 1970, Frey was appointed head of the design and foundry at A.K. Kaiser, a division of Alboth + Kaiser Catawiki. Under his leadership, he produced a distinctive style of matte bisque porcelain with high-gloss interiors, often featuring modernist, geometric, or relief floral designs. His work was known for its limited production runs, making pieces rare and collectible.
