Rosenthal Tapio Wirkkala Porcelain Vase

This sleek "Pearl Drops" German porcelain vase was designed by Tapio Wirkkala in the 1960s for the Rosenthal Studio Line and is marked on the base.

Tapio Wirkkala was a Finnish designer and sculptor, a major figure of post-war design. Among his most famous work have been the designs for the Finlandia vodka bottle (1970-1999) and for Iittala's Ultima Thule set of kitchen glasses.

Some light vintage wear to the base that is consistent with age (pictured and reflected in price) but no chips or cracks and in excellent condition.
